Rio Ferdinand has explained why he thinks a Liverpool player is better than their opposing number at Manchester City.
Up until this season, the Reds have often been competing with Man City for the top prizes in English and European football. Liverpool won both domestic cups last term, but missed out on the Premier League title.
Ferdinand has been speaking on his Youtube channel, Vibe with Five, and has taken part in a head-to-head where he named the best players. The former Manchester United defender reckons that Alisson Becker is a better stopper than Man City’s Ederson Moraes.

Both Alisson and Ederson often compete for the number one spot in the Brazil national team. The Liverpool goalkeeper was chosen to be his country’s stopper for the World Cup in Qatar, as Brazil reached the quarter-final stage.
Ferdinand believes that Ederson may be better than Alisson in one area of his game. However, the former United defender believes that Alisson being a “big moment players” gives him the nod.
When asked for his reasoning, Ferdinand said: “He probably gets you more points in a season. That’s the only reason.
“I think Ederson, with his feet, there’s no question, he’s the best in the world for me. But Alisson, he’s a big moment player.”
