A billionaire with zero military experience has seen his sudden Pentagon career crash to a halt after a single name in recently released Epstein flight logs triggered a leadership crisis.

John Phelan, the investment executive turned civilian head of the fleet, was removed from his post on Wednesday in an exit the Pentagon described only as 'effective immediately'.
