AMARAVATI: Finance minister Buggana Rajendranath told the assembly that there was no proposal to regularise contract employees in the state. He said that about 2,602 were working in different departments on contract basis for long.
He said that about 620 people were working in the school education department while about 400 people were working the welfare department. He said that another 412 people were working in the home department while 194 were working in the irrigation department.
Finance minister also said that 45 Central Sponsored Schemes (CSS) were being implemented in the state. He said that no scheme was stopped due to non-allocation of the funds by the state government. He said that the Centre has allotted ₹12,093 crore while the state government has allocated ₹6,696 crore for centrally sponsored schemes.
He said that the health department is the biggest beneficiary of the central schemes as the schemes with total outlay of ₹3,117 crore were under progress. "While majority of the schemes were being implemented with 60:40 (Centre-State) share, a few schemes were implemented with 100 per cent central financial assistance," said Buggana. He said that housing scheme under PMAY was being taken up with 87:13 share between Centre and share.
Education minister Dr Adimulapu Suresh said that no irregularities have been taken place in finalization of tenders for procurement of chikki and eggs for supply to students as part of the mid-day meal programme.
Minister for roads and bridges, Sankara Narayana, has made it clear that that no railway project has been taken up under joint venture in the state.
The minister told the assembly on Thursday that the state government was not responsible for any delay in railway projects proposed in the state. "We have not taken up any railway project in the state under joint venture," said the minister.
