If most Lanarkshire football fans pick up a pen on a Saturday it's normally to fill in their coupon - but Airdrieonians FC's kit man took the novel approach of using one to ensure a star player for the Diamonds didn't fall foul of an unfortunate spelling blunder.
And it's just as well the emergency repair job was put into action as striker Calum Gallagher went on to score the winning goal in Saturday's 1-0 win over Kelty Hearts at the Excelsior Stadium.
Former Rangers forward Gallagher had the club's number nine jersey on his shirt but eagle-eyed home fans spotted an issue with the name across the back of his kit.
The first letter in Gallagher's name appeared missing from the print, which read 'ALLAGHER' across his shoulders - but a lower-case letter G was shown to have been scrawled on with ink.
Match-winner Gallagher saw the funny side and thankfully had no need to worry about Jeff Stelling announcing his seventh goal of the season on Soccer Saturday as being scored by Callum Allagher.
Gallagher joined in the laughs on social media, replying to an image of him celebrating his 70th minute winner with team-mate Justin Devenney by joking: "Handwriting is tremendous."
It was later claimed the Airdrie kitman had run out of the letter G in the club's typeset, and a hilarious quick-thinking alternative was quickly worked on to ensure the striker was fully identified.
Fans also took to Twitter to poke fun at the spelling blunder, with Arran Ewart saying: "His name is Calum ⁹allagher."
And Níallaigh Bhoy pondered: "Why not use a C then draw last bit?"
