No former Cardinals likely to play in Super Bowl with Chiefs, 49ers

The Arizona Cardinals definitely did not make it to the Super Bowl. Super Bowl LVIII is between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.

There are former Cardinals players on both teams. They likely will not make an appearance.

Between the two teams, only one former Cardinals player is on an active roster. The rest are on their practice squads.

Who are the former players?

Chiefs QB Blaine Gabbert

Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

Gabbert is the Chiefs’ backup quarterback. He would only appear if Patrick Mahomes got hurt.

He played for the Cardinals and started five games in 2017.

Chiefs DL Matt Dickerson

Dickerson is currently on the Chiefs’ practice squad. He did, though, play in 12 games this season.

He was on the Cardinals’ practice squad for part of 2021 and spent part of the offseason in 2022 with the team.

Chiefs RB Keontay Ingram

Alex Gallardo-USA TODAY Sports

Ingram is on the practice squad for the Chiefs. He was cut midseason by the Cardinals after a season and a half in Arizona. The Cardinals drafted him in the sixth round in 2022.

49ers OL Ilm Manning

Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Manning is on the Niners’ practice squad. He was on the Cardinals’ roster early in the season after claiming him off waivers from the 49ers.
