James Ward-Prowse has spoken of his respect for Newcastle United ahead of the second leg of the League Cup semi-finals.
The Southampton star was unable to prevent the Saints from sliding to a first leg defeat at St Mary's but knows what lies ahead in the deciding 90 minutes of the last four tie.
Southampton head north on Tuesday night for the biggest night in St James' Park history since 1976 on the domestic front. Ward-Proswe gets the sense of occasion and said: "To face a really good Newcastle side will be tough, but a great challenge and an opportunity for us to play with no fear.

"You don't get many opportunities in your career to play in quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals and we've got a fantastic chance of getting through. We can't let this opportunity go by."
Newcastle are fighting on two fronts in the League Cup and in the Premier League where they are looking to book a Champions League spot. Ward-Prowse, talking to the Southampton match magazine, said: "I think you're obviously playing against a good team, a team in form.
"It's not all won and lost in the first leg. We know going up there the atmosphere is going be electric and it's a great challenge for us. There's no point playing with any fear.
"We have to go and attack the matches and give ourselves the best change of getting through. We have got a fantastic chance to reach a final. We're all desperate to give this club silverware."
