No Dolphins appeared on PFF’s top 25 players under 25 list

There’s a feeling in the NFL that the young talent across all 32 rosters is among some of the best the league has ever seen, and the Miami Dolphins are no exception.

General manager Chris Grier has been scrutinized in the past for some poor decision-making in the draft, but there are a number of positive examples of talented players in their first few seasons that have already made an impact.

Ahead of the 2022 NFL season, Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema put together a list of the top 25 players under 25 years old, and unfortunately for the fans of the team in South Florida, there were no Dolphins to be found.

The list mentioned that the players would need to be under 25 when the season begins in September. With that in mind, Miami would only have 30 players that would fall into that category, with a number of them coming into their rookie season.

The only second-year players on the list were Micah Parsons (No. 6), Ja’Marr Chase (No. 7), Rashawn Slater (No. 14), Creed Humphrey (No. 16), Patrick Surtain II (No. 20), Trevor Lawrence (No. 21) and Kyle Pitts (No. 24).

There are really three Dolphins that could be in consideration for this list to this point – Jaelan Phillips, Jaylen Waddle and Jevon Holland. It could be said that at least Holland and Waddle had a better rookie year than Lawrence and possibly Pitts, but those two are still being projected to have better careers.

The trio of young studs in Miami are heading into their second year, so there’s a chance that they make it onto this list next year with another season to show that they belong.
