No bitterness for Payten as Holmes leaves Cowboys

Saying goodbye is never easy but North Queensland coach Todd Payten can take some comfort in seeing star centre Valentine Holmes go.

Payten said the NRL premiership winner's departure was "bittersweet" after five years in Townsville, but would help the club in the long run by freeing up salary cap space.
