AHMEDABAD: Yuvika Tomar was 17 when she first tried her hand at pistol shooting. She had no idea about the sport then, but watching Saurabh Chaudhary shoot at the Binauli range was enough for her to stick around and pick up some tips. Now at 21, Yuvika doesn't just know a lot about shooting, she is also the No. 1 shooter in the 10m air pistol category.
The Meerut shooter beat veterans like Annu Raj Singh, Manu Bhaker and contemporaries like Rhythm Sangwan to win gold at the National Games here on Sunday. Yuvika is also preparing for the World Championships in Cairo from October 13.
