2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Arrives In November With A Very Different Powertrain

Nissan's US hybrid rollout starts on a date: November 2026. That's when the 2027 Rogue Hybrid, built on the automaker's E-Power system, reaches American dealers for the first time.

Nissan Americas Chairman Christian Meunier says hybrids could grab 30 to 40 percent of the country's C-segment mid-size sales quickly once the Rogue arrives. Shoppers cross-shopping the RAV4 or CR-V now have a third option worth checking.

Nissan Rogue E-Power Arrives In The US In November

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid starts at $35,490 and pairs a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with dual electric motors and a 2.1-kilowatt-hour battery. Nissan rates it at 148 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, with standard all-wheel drive.

Unlike a conventional hybrid, the gas engine never turns the wheels directly. It only spins a generator, in a setup Nissan says works nothing like Toyota's, with electric motors handling all propulsion.

The rollout starts narrow. The SR trim with the SR Technology Package arrives first this fall, according to Nissan, with SV, SR, and Platinum trims following in early 2027 as inventory builds.

Production, for now, happens overseas. Nissan Motor Kyushu in Japan builds the US-bound Rogue Hybrid, according to a report cited by Reuters, with October exports feeding November showroom stock. Meunier has tied potential US assembly of the model to 2028, not before.

Kicks And Larger Vehicles Join The Hybrid Plan

The Rogue is the opener, not the whole show. Nissan intends to bring E-Power to the Kicks subcompact crossover, opening hybrid access to buyers shopping smaller, cheaper vehicles.

Trucks are part of the plan too. Nissan has outlined new V6 hybrid pickups for both its own brand and Infiniti. That would push electrified powertrains into a segment where hybrids remain rare among domestic rivals.

The bigger number sits behind all of it. Nissan wants hybrids to be its primary North American powertrain by 2030. Reuters reports the automaker's current domestic US production share sits near 65 percent, against an 80 percent long-term target with no confirmed year attached.

That local-production push and the hybrid expansion are meant to move together, Nissan indicates, though the timeline for shifting Rogue Hybrid assembly stateside remains unconfirmed. The automaker's broader electrified lineup plans extend well past the Rogue's November debut.

For buyers, the first step is simple. If a compact hybrid SUV is on the list, the Rogue E-Power joins the usual RAV4 and CR-V in late 2026, with the smaller Kicks and future hybrid pickups waiting in the wings as Nissan further focuses on electrified powertrains.
