Nippon Steel Commits To No Layoffs Or Plant Closures Until 2026

Nippon Steel has announced that there will be no layoffs or plant closures at US Steel until 2026. This decision comes as part of the joint venture agreement between the two companies, U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel, which was established in 2018.

Under this agreement, Nippon Steel has committed to maintaining the current workforce and operations at US Steel without any disruptions for the next five years. This assurance provides stability and security for employees and stakeholders of both companies.
