Nintendo Switch Online: 2 GameCube Titles Remain Unavailable Despite Being Confirmed

Nintendo Switch Online still has two GameCube titles that are not yet available on the service. However, these were already confirmed by the Japanese gaming giant to be part of the renowned retro lineup.

Nintendo Switch Online Is Still Missing 2 GameCube Titles

According to a new report from ComicBook Gaming, there are two games from the original GameCube announcement from Nintendo that have not yet made their way to the Nintendo Switch Online service.

When GameCube games first became playable through Nintendo Switch Online last year, Nintendo moved quickly to expand the catalog. Titles like "Chibi-Robo," "F-Zero GX," "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker," and "Super Mario Strikers" all arrived within a few months of each other, with "Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance" and "Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness" following in early 2026.

Since then, the pace has slowed to a stop, with "Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness" being the most recent addition, landing on March 18. Nintendo has not announced anything new for the GameCube library in the nearly four months since.

That marks the longest gap between additions so far, especially compared to the previous longest wait of about two months between new titles.

Will These GameCube Titles Still Arrive?

"Super Mario Sunshine" and "Pokémon Colosseum" remain the final two titles from that initial batch of 11 games that have yet to be released.

The announcement video from Nintendo made it clear that these games will be part of the catalog, as every other game shown in that reveal has already made its way onto Nintendo Switch Online. This means these two are the clear next additions still owed to subscribers.

"Super Mario Sunshine" launched in 2002 and sent Mario to the tropical Isle Delfino, where he uses the water-powered device FLUDD to clean up graffiti, battle Bowser Jr., and collect Shine Sprites across sunny, open-ended levels. "

"Pokémon Colosseum" arrived the same year, bringing the series' first fully 3D console adventure. Set in the desert region of Orre, it follows former Team Snagem member Wes as he "snags" corrupted Shadow Pokémon from criminals and purifies them, using double battles as its core mechanic.

Both games remain popular picks among longtime GameCube fans, making their continued absence somewhat puzzling given how consistently Nintendo rolled out earlier titles from the same announcement. Nothing suggests either game has been pulled from the lineup, but the lack of any recent update leaves their exact release timing unclear.

New Announcement Expected Soon

The extended silence has made Nintendo Switch Online, particularly its Expansion Pack tier, feel less active than it did during the GameCube library's early rollout, and it chips away at one of the bigger selling points tied to Switch 2 owners subscribing to the service in the first place.

If Nintendo does break its silence on the GameCube lineup, it would likely happen during the company's next Nintendo Direct presentation.

Nintendo has typically held a Direct in late August or early September in past years, and while nothing has been confirmed for 2026 yet, a fall presentation could be where updates on "Super Mario Sunshine" and "Pokémon Colosseum" may arrive.
