Nintendo Indie World Showcase November 2022: How to watch and what to expect

The Nintendo Indie World Showcase is being broadcast on Wednesday, November 8 at 5pm GMT / 12pm ET / 9am PT. We're not expecting any ground-breaking announcements on core franchises – which are strictly reserved for Nintendo Direct streams. But there'll no doubt be plenty of smaller titles to tantalise players looking for fun and unique games outside of the platform's first-party series.

The last indie showcase was back in May, giving us a sneak peek at the roster of games headed to the Nintendo Switch over the course of the year. It included Devolver Digital's dungeon-crawler, Cult of the Lamb; the incredibly addictive puzzle strategy game, Mini Motorways; and charming life sim Ooblets that combines farming with pokemon -style battling and creature collection.

You can catch up on May's presentation over on YouTube for a rundown of all the trailers in case you missed them. There are some real gems in the line-up, and the trailers are all time-stamped, so you can skip to whatever takes your fancy. In the meantime, here's everything you need to know about this week's Nintendo Indie World Showcase.

How to watch Nintendo Indie World Showcase

The Nintendo Indie World Showcase kicks off at 5pm GMT / 12pm ET / 9am PT on Wednesday, November 9 . The presentation is set to be around 25 minutes, and will be broadcast on the Nintendo YouTube channel. We've also embedded the stream below, to make things easier for you.

Once the show wraps up, you'll be able to catch the replay on Nintendo's YouTube channel. And we'll round up everything announced at the Nintendo Indie World Showcase right here.

Nintendo Indie World Showcase: what to expect

Hollow Knight: Silksong is undoubtedly the game that everyone is desperate to get an update on. The follow-up to Team Cherry's Hollow Knight was first announced in a 2019 Nintendo Direct. The trailer didn't give away much away, but we got a more in-depth look at the gameplay in a Nintendo Treehouse stream after the announcement.

The last we heard about the title was back in June, during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. Everything featured in the presentation was set to release within 12 months of the show. Meaning we should see Silksong by summer of 2023. But of course, game development isn't always a smooth road, so dates are subject to change. Hopefully we'll get an update on Hollow Knight: Silksong at Nintendo's Indie World Showcase this month.

It's also possible that we'll see Devolver Digital's Inscryption announced for the Switch. The roguelike deck-building game launched on PC last October, and got a PS4 and PS5 release in August. A PEGI rating and an ESRB rating were spotted for the game last month by Twitter user @gemucafe, which includes the Nintendo Switch alongside the PlayStation consoles. So we may get official word during the presentation.
