Nintendo has confirmed the rumored Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase is, in fact, taking place later this week on February 5, 2026.
Rumors of a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase arose last week, and it turned out to be on the money, so apologies to the fans disappointed that we won't be finding out about a new Mario or Zelda. Nintendo confirmed via the Nintendo Today app that the showcase will air later this week on Thursday, February 5 at 6am PT | 9am ET | 2pm GMT and will run for "roughly 30 minutes."
Obviously, Nintendo didn't say what would actually appear in this Nintendo Direct, aside from "upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games from Nintendo’s publishing and development partners." But a pretty safe bet would be Elden Ring, which was meant to come out on Switch 2 last year before being delayed to improve performance following a poor showing at conventions. And given how much Square Enix loves a Nintendo Direct, The Adventures of Elliott: The Millennium Tales is probably a shout too.
Speaking of Square, when it comes to surprise predictions, it may be time for the Kingdom Hearts series to finally arrive on Nintendo platforms in a form it deserves after the terrible cloud versions plagued the original Switch – like Capcom is doing with Resident Evil 7 and 8.
Plus, Capcom is bound to show a Resident Evil Requiem, Monster Hunter Stories 3, or Pragmata trailer, or maybe go even further with a port of Monster Hunter Wilds or Onimusha: Way of the Sword. And surely a port of a game like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 would be a no-brainer.
So in closing: I'm expecting only farming games and JRPGs, as is standard.
