Nintendo recently announced that it will hold another Nintendo Direct showcase scheduled for June 28.
In a tweet, Nintendo of America confirmed it will hold a Nintendo Direct before the end of the month. This latest Direct, which Nintendo is calling a Direct Mini, will focus on upcoming third-party games for the Nintendo Switch. The publisher has also revealed the Direct will be a “Partner Showcase” so the games shown will come from partner studios.
While the Direct will only be 25 minutes long there are a number of big titles coming to Nintendo Switch which fans will be hoping to see. As a partner showcase, upcoming games from Nintendo’s biggest franchises such as Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Splatoon 3, and the sequel to The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild will not be receiving updates.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is set to release July 29 and so it is possible that Nintendo will give us more information before fans get their hands on it. However, as Nintendo held a specific Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct only last week (June 22), it will likely get no more than a passing comment.
More probable is that Switch owners will get an update on the current progress concerning Bayonetta 3. Nintendo recently confirmed that the third in Platinum Games’ umbral witch trilogy is still on track for a 2022 release. However, we haven’t seen new footage since September last year. This will definitely be the game which people are most hoping to see.
Another of the major third-party releases which is reportedly coming this year is Ubisoft’s Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope. This will be the second Mario + Rabbids crossover game, and was announced in June of last year. However, we have heard few updates on progress since.
The third game which is likely to be shown is Sonic Frontiers. The collection of 2D Sonic games, Sonic Origins, recently released on Nintendo Switch bringing the blue blur to the forefront of everyone’s minds. While new gameplay was shown recently, Sonic Frontiers is still set for release this year and could see updates such as an official date.
The Direct is set to air at 6 a.m. PT.
