Nineteen children have been rushed to hospital in California after a car smashed into a creche, reports say.
The vehicle, a Suzuki SUV, hit Great Adventures Daycare, in Anderson, about 150 miles north of Sacramento, on Thursday at about 2:30pm with images showing it having ploughed right through a wall.
Only the back end of the car is visible as people look on in horror at the location at Balls Ferry Road and Martha Street in the town.
Emergency services rushed to the scene with ambulances and parents taking the 19 children to hospital.
The preschool centre provides care for children from the ages of two to six.
Police confirmed that children had been sent to multiple hospitals but the extent of their injuries is not known, The Mirror UK reports.
Police Chief Jon Poletski said 19 children and at least two staff members were inside the building at the time of the crash. He did not give further details on the incident or what caused the crash.
There are reports that one of the children was trapped under the car that crashed into the building.
Mercy Medical Centre in Redding said nine of the children were transferred to the facility, and three others were taken to Saint Elizabeth's Community Hospital in Red Bluff, it is reported by KRCR.
A description of the school states: "Great Adventures is a Preschool for children 2 through the first day of first grade.
