A nine-year-old youngster from the North East has taken social media by storm with a recent and topical submission for his school's annual Easter Egg competition.
Will Nolan who lives in Fellgate decided to go for gold this year with a completely unique idea, in which he has recreated an iconic scene from the most recent Oscars ceremony. The 94th Academy Awards left people talking long after it's live screening, when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock for an off the cuff joke about his wife Jada's hair loss.
The clip itself of the altercation went immediately viral, as shocked audience members in attendance at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood, audibly gasped.

And since its happening, clips have endlessly circulated on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok. It was on the latter that young Will initially saw the clip, giving him the idea for his recent and completely relevant Easter Egg entry as St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Jarrow, which is set to take place today.
Speaking to Chronicle Live about how the idea came to light, his mother Claire, said: "Every year the school does the Easter Egg competition. Yesterday I was working from home and he came in and told me he needed to have his entry ready by tomorrow.
"On my lunch I just boiled up some eggs and he was coming up with ideas and he said that he wanted to do the Oscars thing.
"I got him a load of craft things out and he just, pardon the pun, cracked on with it."
She added: "He's been a little bit obsessed with it since it happened, obviously he seen it on the news, you couldn't escape it. He's nine, so he also goes on Tik Tok and he's seen all of the different versions of it.
"He's shocked by it as well because he can't get over the fact that somebody would do that really. He's such a soft soul, because he's now saying about all the bad stuff that's happening to Will Smith...bless him."
And despite her son's best efforts, Claire doesn't feel as though his entry will win the competition overall due to the fact he attends a catholic school and the scene is admittedly violent. However, some of the teachers who have seen his project have allegedly complemented him on his hard work and creativity.
Claire added: "I don't think it'll win because it's violent - and he goes to a catholic school. I already told him that I didn't think he would win if he went for that - so I've already got him ready about that.
"But when he woke up this morning I showed him all of the comments on Facebook off my post and he was so happy. I said 'Will you're a winner anyways, it's brilliant'.
"He done it so well you know, I was well impressed with him. But I will be shocked put it that way if he wins."
She added: "I'm so proud of him - it's made his day this morning when I showed it [the comments] to him. Actually, to be fair, my husband took him to school this morning and he said that the teachers were stopping him on the way in and said 'Will, that's brilliant' so I'm over the moon that a teacher has straight away said that to him.
"He would be devastated if he thought there was any negativity - it would hurt him if that makes sense.
"That cheered me up because I was a little bit worried, but at the same time I didn't want to say don't do it because that's what he wanted to do and I didn't want to stop him."
And to the contrary, there has been no negativity on social media after Claire shared her son's work online, with many taking to the comments section to express their delight at his sheer creativity.
Viv Cockburn, wrote: "Will that's amazing clever lad love you," while Alison Marshall added: "Eeee Claire I’m howling." Susan Hughes, said: "Fantastic and very clever ! Def the winner well done Will," while Natalie Billing, simply said: "Eggcellent."
Claire has also spoke of her profound proudness of her son for coming up with the idea all by himself, adding: "I'm so proud of him and you know what it's made his day this morning when I was showing him [the comments]."
The social media post itself has also received an abundance of shares on the platform, and almost 200 likes from viewers who enjoyed the display of Will's hard work.
Since the incident at the 94th Academy Awards, Will Smith has publicly apologised for his actions and subsequently resigned from future ceremonies. Chris Rock has also said that he is 'still processing what happened' during the incident last week.
