Nina Nesbitt packs wooly skirt and jumper for TRNSMT set in disbelief of hot Scots weather

NINA Nesbitt was caught short before her stage appearance at TRNSMT after realising she only had a jumper and wool skirt to perform in - despite the sweltering heat.

As temperatures reached an all time high of 25 degrees, Nina admitted she hadn’t come prepared.

Wearing a jumper which said The Smiths on it, and her tartan skirt with white boots, she said backstage: “I didn’t know it was going to be a day like this and normally I’m freezing and can’t sing when I’m cold.”

The singer who amassed even more fans with her improvised songs and witty videos on Instagram and TikTok over lockdown said it was great to see fans face to face.

She said: “This is my third big band show in three years so it’s good to see new faces. I’m going to check out a few artists now that I’ve played and I’m going to go and raid the catering. There’s some Mexican food on offer that I’ve got my eye on.”

“I’d like to see Lewis and maybe Mimi Webb.”

Nina is all set for her next big gig in Scotland next month.

She said: “I am supporting Coldplay next month at Hampden. I’ve sung the national anthem there before but it’s my first show there so I’m excited for that that. The album is coming out September 2. It’s got a Swedish name Alska which means To Love.”
