Defence attorneys for mass murderer Nikolas Cruz began their case on 22 August, as they seek to convince the jury that he should be sentenced to life in prison instead of death.
Cruz was 19 when he travelled to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day 2018 armed with an AR-15 style rifle.
