Nikola Jokic might be the best NBA player in the world, but that’s not his first job. He’s a family man first and an elite basketball player second.
There’s no better evidence of this than the touching tribute video the Denver Nuggets put together for their franchise player after he won his third career MVP on Wednesday night.
The video features Jokic’s wife, Natalija, beautifully narrating his journey from a former second-round pick to becoming one of only nine players in league history to win MVP on at least three occasions. It ends with Jokic’s family telling him he is their MVP and his daughter blowing him a kiss and telling him he loves him.
Warning: Someone might be cutting onions as you watch this.

Here’s how Jokic reacted to the video while presumably watching it for the first time:

I couldn’t think of a better way to honor someone I love who happened to be one of the best athletes on the planet.
