Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are one special duo, man. There’s a lot of time between now and the end of their careers, so it’s far too early to put them up there with some of the best that we’ve seen.
But, man. With every passing game it feels like they’re one of the most potent combinations we’ve seen in NBA history.
The two of them quite literally made history together in Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Heat. They combined for a whopping two 30-point triple-doubles in the NBA Finals, which is the first time that’s happened in NBA history.

This all came after folks were saying that it’s bad business for Jokic to be a scorer for the Nuggets. There was talk about the Heat having a perfect gameplan for Jamal Murray and cutting off the head of the snake.
After all that, the two of them came out and did everything for their team. And they ended up completely outproducing the Miami Heat’s entire starting lineup while doing it.
Yes, seriously. That’s a thing that happened.
Jokic and Murray combined for 66 points, 31 rebounds and 20 assists. The Heat’s starters had 66 points, too, but only 25 rebounds and 12 assists. And all that was between 5 players — not just two.

That’s one of the most impressive stats that you’re going to see this postseason. That’s what domination looks like.
Best of luck to the Miami Heat figuring out what to do with that in Game 4.
