NEW DELHI: Four Indian boxers will be seen in action on the first day as star boxer Nikhat Zareen will kick-off hosts' challenge at the IBA Women’s World Championships on Thursday.
The country’s pugilists were handed a mixed draw with the reigning champion Nikhat will have an easy start when she faces Azerbaijan’s Anakhanim Ismayilova in the 50kg Round of 64. But defending her crown might get challenging with the potential opponents, Rio Olympics bronze medallist Ingrit Valencia of Colombia and Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Japan’s Tsukimi Namiki, waiting for her in the semi-final and final respectively.
