Saturday marked the official end of an era in Tuscaloosa.
Kalen DeBoer was officially introduced as Alabama’s next head coach, putting a bow on Nick Saban’s tenure for good.
Nike commemorated the Saban era perfectly with an Instagram post honoring the coaching great. The apparel company posted a picture of Saban, with a caption in the picture that read, “The college football world hasn’t slept this well in years.”
Nike’s social media post also noted, “It’s a lot easier to shut your eyes at night when you don’t have to deal with 28 years, 11 SEC championships, seven national championships and 297 wins anymore. Now go enjoy retirement, Coach.”
Saban retired on Wednesday after 17 years at Alabama, where he put together one of the greatest dynasties in the history of college football. DeBoer has gigantic shoes to fill as he takes over in Tuscaloosa for the greatest coach of all time.
