Neighbours have described how a road in in a Nottinghamshire village on as a ‘nightmare’ for parking during certain times of the day.
It comes after Nottingham City Transport's Green 10 bus service was diverted on May 3, due to badly parked cars on Packman Drive, Ruddington.
Residents have spoken out on the parking issues on the road which is near St Peters CofE Junior School. Some highlighted that parking is worse on the ‘narrow’ road during school drop-off and pick-up hours.

Flavia Moffat, 46, has lived in the area for 16 years, she often uses the bus. She said: “I’ve never known them to be diverted but they do struggle. Every 10-15 minutes, it is busy. It’s just because of the school drop off in the morning and in the afternoon. This road is quite narrow and cars park on either side."
Another resident, Jean Langley, described the parking problems as ‘dreadful. The 73-year-old who has lived in the area for 40 years said: “The parking is terrible down here especially during school times.
“I think the parking is dreadful down here especially if there are any events. One of my neighbours couldn’t even get out of their drive . The bus drivers don’t like to come down here at school times. It’s a nightmare. They park on people’s driveways. It is terrible.”
Whilst another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, added that it’s only for a period of time in the morning and afternoon.
They said: “It’s only about 15 minutes in the morning. I tend to not go out driving. Some people park on the corner. They tend to park close to the school. It is busy but then it's soon gone. It’s all hectic then it’s fine.”
A bus user, who didn’t want to be named added: “They do park everywhere, some tend to park on the corners. It can get quite bad. Sometimes on a weekend it can be pretty busy. I didn’t know the bus had to divert but to be honest I’m not surprised.”
On May 3 Nottingham City Transport said: “Due to badly parked cars on Packman Drive in Ruddington, Green 10 are diverting via the A60 and Kirk Lane in both directions. Stops on Packman, Ashworth Avenue and Easthorpe are unable to be served.”
