The nightclub where footballer Cody Fisher died in a knife attack on Boxing Day is to remain closed for good after having its licence permanently removed.
West Midlands Police previously said there had been “serious management failings” at the Crane nighclub, and there were "terrifying risks" to punters.
The police blasted "blatant" and widespread drug use and security measures that were not up to scratch and which had also allowed a knife to enter the venue.
After a meeting in December, the club's licence was suspended for 28 days. Following an application by police, a Birmingham City Council licensing committee ordered the operating licence to be revoked.
The existing suspension placed on the club has also been counted, so the venue cannot reopen amid any appeal possible against the decision by its operator, Digital Arts Media Ltd.
