Nigeria sensation Daniel Daga confirms Liverpool transfer dream

Sixteen-year-old Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga has revealed his dream to play for Liverpool after confirming links with the Reds.

Despite being a teenager, he featured prominently making five appearances for the Super Eagles at the U20s World Cup in Argentina. It was a successful tournament for Nigeria despite being knocked out after extra-time by South Korea in the quarter-finals. Daga was apart of the Nigeria side that stunned the hosts after beating them 2-0 in the Round of 16.

The player has been described as a sensation and currently plies his trade in his homeland and earned a move to Nigerian National League side Dakkada FC after a spell with FC One Rocket.

And the ambitious youngster has revealed that Liverpool are among the host of clubs looking to sign the 16-year-old as he highlighted his intentions of following in the footsteps of Victor Osimhen.

"Yeah, many clubs [are interested]," Daga told NigeriaInfo.

"Many clubs apart from AC Milan, Liverpool, Anderlecht. Many other clubs are looking for me – Watford, Club Brugge, and in Denmark, Midtjylland.

"It’s true they are all looking for me. But I’m not yet at the point because I’m looking for where I can play. Because in two years, I’ll be playing at the top like Osimhen."

The midfielder discussing Liverpool didn't end there. He named the Reds as a team he would like to play for in the future as he outlined his desire to play and win the Champions League as well as the FA Cup within the next five years.

Daga added: "I want to see myself playing at Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd; play in the Champions League; play in the FA Cup, win the FA Cup and win Champions League in the next five years.

"Because I have the belief, the confidence, and boldness that I’m going to be there in the next five years, and I’ll be playing in the Super Eagles.

"I know Nigerians want to see me in Super Eagles and I believe myself to play in the national team. It may not be the time I’ll start playing yet, but I believe 100 percent I’ll play (for the) Super Eagles soon."
