Nigel Farage to host episode of GB News show from pub in Scotland

NIGEL Farage is set to host an episode of his GB News show from a pub in Scotland.

The former UKIP leader has announced he will bring his programme to a pub in Aberdeen this April.

The venue is yet to be revealed due to security concerns, with details to be released 24 hours before the event begins.

However, tickets for the show have reportedly sold out – less than 24 hours after going on sale.

Farage’s appearance in Aberdeen is part of his “seven-stop” tour of Britain, and will be his only show in Scotland.

Organisers say tickets cost £1.50 and anyone hoping to attend will need to sign up in advance and will need photo ID.

No guests have been confirmed or topics that the show might include. Politicians in the area have not reacted well to the news.

Aberdeen Central MSP Kevin Stewart told The Press and Journal: “Aberdeen is a diverse, warm and welcoming city, that has opened its arms to folk from across the world.

“It is also a city that benefitted hugely from European Union membership.

“This city represents so much of what Nigel Farage’s politics have tried to tear down. As one of the main architects of a Brexit that Aberdonians overwhelmingly rejected, Farage might not be the most popular of visitors.

“Perhaps Farage could use his visit to see the damage that Brexit has done to our city, and admit that it hasn’t worked for Aberdeen.”

The announcement of the show has sparked suggestions that there could be protests.

In 2013, Farage was surrounded by protesters on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and had to be taken away by an armoured police van.

The former UKIP leader has previously claimed that Nicola Sturgeon’s plans to see an independent Scotland join the EU were the “most dishonest political discourse” he’d ever seen “anywhere in the world”.
