Former Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong has named four reasons Luis Diaz is a 'special' signing for Liverpool.
De Jong believes his versatility, passion, relationship with other South American team-mates and being left-footed will all benefit the forward at Anfield.
The Reds completed the signing of the Colombia international on Sunday, after agreeing a £49m deal with Porto.
Diaz has signed a five-year deal with Liverpool that will keep him at Anfield until the summer of 2027, and he will wear the number 23 shirt.
The 25-year-old will compete with the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Firmino for a place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up.

Former Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong believes that Firmino will help Diaz to settle into life at Anfield.
De Jong also argued why he thinks Diaz will be a successful addition to Liverpool’s squad.
“ I think it’s a fantastic deal,” De Jong told Sky Sports.
“I think the majority will watch Champions League games and see how important he is for Porto. He was for Porto now obviously he is now a player of Liverpool.
“You can play him in multiple positions upfront and he loves to take a player on. Tenacious.
“He really has that South American passion about him as well. So, I think it’s a great signing for Liverpool.
“I think he’s in good hands with the likes of Firmino and different style of players that can help him out in the English culture. So, yes there’s something special about him.
“Being a leftie he always has an advantage in how he goes forward and it could be a great addition to the Liverpool squad.
"Especially with the likes of Mane and Salah.”
