Nicolas Raskin is putting the finishing touches to his move to Rangers with supporters anxiously awaiting confirmation of the Belgian’s arrival as the second signing of the January transfer window.
But the Light Blues squad members don’t seem to be waiting for the club announcing it on the website or that famous deadline day scrolling Sky Sports News yellow ticker as they have already welcomed the 21-year-old Standard Liege midfielder into their inner sanctum.
That’s because sleuth supporters have spotted Raskin has joined a private Instagram account which is only followed by current Rangers players and staff members – with the page not following any other accounts. It’s a sure sign that Beale’s squad are confident he will be one of them soon, joining Todd Cantwell who arrived earlier in the window. Raskin, a Belgian Under-21 international, had a difficult time in Liege and was frozen out towards the end of his time there.
Record Sport revealed Raskin had touched down in Edinburgh on Monday and he was whisked across the M8 for a tour of the Rangers Training Centre. Beale had earlier admitted he will be a great signing for the club. He said: "He is a sought-after player in Europe. There is loads of interest in him - he has a lot of options I believe.
"He is someone who can connect the midfield and the forwards, he is technically a very good player. He can play as a six or an eight and he will be a good signing for someone. There is a lot of competition for his signature. It is an eye-catching one because of his age and the fact his contract is running down.I want one more (signing) that would compete with (Ryan) Jack, (John) Lundstram and (Glen) Kamara in their sort of roles. That's what we're looking for."
