Nicolas Raskin in Rangers injury boost as midfielder all systems go for Celtic amid high hopes from Ibrox camp

Michael Beale has revealed Nicolas Raskin will be fit for their crucial clash at Celtic.

The Belgian midfielder has impressed since arriving from Standard Liege in the winter transfer window but a fitness issue kept him out of last weekend's meeting with Dundee United. Fans have been keen to get news on whether or not he'd make it for this match at Parkhead, which the Light Blues really need to win to give themselves a realistic tilt at the title.

Currently trailing their rivals by nine points, a Celtic win could leave them 12 points off the pace of first. Having one of their top midfielders in action to take on the leaders would be a boost and boss Beale has confirmed that Raskin is going to make the date in Glasgow's east end. He said: "Raskin is fit and has trained all week.

"It's important we deliver our gameplan. We have to start strong and carry a threat with our key players. We have to stay strong in our structure, we will pick a team to go win."

And the Englishman believes there is plenty of reasons for optimism as his side travel across the city. He added: "The team arrive in fine form after 10 consecutive league wins. Our away form has been good and we are certainly looking forward to the match. We are in a positive place, it is a game we are looking forward to as a squad. We are a possession-based team. It is important we get our attacking players on the ball and go show our quality, we have to execute our big moments. These games are often won in big moments, our key players have to step up tomorrow.

"We are definitely a different team from my first Old Firm match back. Todd (Cantwell) and Nico (Raskin) have brought nice energy into the group and have the quality to bring to the squad. The league form has been strong but it is important we continue to show that. We need to get closer out of possession, play with intensity and we don't have time for people to wait. All of that gives you the foundations to play football."
