Nicolas Raskin ARRIVES ahead of Rangers transfer as Belgian midfielder set to complete Ibrox move

Nicolas Raskin has arrived in Scotland ahead of completing his move to Rangers.

The Standard Liege midfielder touched down in Edinburgh airport on a flight from Brussels on Monday afternoon where he was met by Ibrox officials and whisked through departures before travelling across the M8 to the Rangers Training Centre.

Reports in Belgium this morning told how a breakthrough had finally been reached in Rangers' pursuit of the player, with a £1.75million fee - their THIRD bid - supposedly agreed and the Jupiler Pro League side getting a 20 per cent sell-on clause inserted. However, speaking at his media conference at lunchtime, Rangers boss Michael Beale said it wasn't done and dusted. But it now appears to be just formalities to be completed after arriving in Scotland. Beale is a huge admirer of Raskin and said: "There's loads of interest in him and has a lot of options, I believe. He's someone who can connect the midfielders and forwards.

"He's technically very good and could play as a No. 6 or a No. 8. He would be a good signing for someone. It's an eye-catching one because of his age and the fact his contract is running down. He's very well thought of in the Belgian national team set-up. I can't confirm anything right now. We're closer but it's not guaranteed right this second."
