Nicolas Malvagna's Charges Could Be Dropped After Community Service

Bebe Rexha hit by phone during concert in NYC

During Bebe Rexha's June 2023 concert in New York City, an unfortunate incident occurred when a man threw a phone at her, hitting her in the head. The man, Nicolas Malvagna, faced several misdemeanor charges following the incident, including assault and harassment.

However, during a court hearing on Feb. 9, Malvagna was offered a chance to have his charges dismissed after completing 40 days of community service and abiding by a six-month order of protection. He has been actively engaged in community service since the incident, and his lawyer mentioned that all criminal charges would be dropped and sealed upon completion of the service.

Malvagna admitted to throwing the phone, stating that he did it as a joke to see if he could hit Rexha. The impact of the phone caused Rexha to sustain an injury to her forehead, requiring stitches. She was promptly attended to by medical staff at the venue and later taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Rexha, known for hits like 'I'm Good (Blue),' reassured her fans of her well-being by sharing a post on Instagram showing her stitches and a black eye. Despite the incident, she remained positive and indicated that she was doing fine.

Following the court hearing, Malvagna's next court date is scheduled for June 20. Representatives for Rexha have not provided any comments on the matter. The resolution of this case highlights the importance of accountability and the consequences of reckless actions during public events.
