Finally, the studio has released a brand-new trailer and a set of chilling movie posters, offering fans their first glimpse of Nicolas Cage’s character, a possessed serial killer described by Cage himself as a 'possessed Geppetto'. The film also stars Maika Monroe, who portrays the FBI agent tasked with stopping this elusive killer.
In an interview with The New York Times journalist Kyle Buchanan, Cage shared more about the character he plays in Longlegs. He describes him as a 'possessed Geppetto', a reference to the kindly old man from Pinocchio, but with a dark twist. Cage's character is a dollmaker who creates dolls that infiltrate families and coerce them into committing horrible acts. The film, directed by Oz Perkins, is not only a horror story but also a personal exploration of Perkins' own experiences with his mother. Cage revealed that he played Longlegs as an androgynous character, drawing inspiration from his own mother.
