Nicola Sturgeon admitting to be 'utterly mortified' just seconds after walking onto the Loose Women set on Monday, as her guest appearance on the show caused quite a stir online.
A month on from her confirming her resignation as First Minister, the Scottish politician joined host Ruth Langsford and her colleagues Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Gloria Hunniford for what Loose Women billed as a huge 'exclusive' for the lunchtime programme.
After reports circulated online about Nicola's Loose Women appearance on Monday morning, it was Ruth who officially confirmed it was happening, when she gave a preview towards the end of This Morning. And viewers, many of whom were left scratching their heads at the fact Nicola Sturgeon was on Loose Women, didn't have long to wait to see her get a grilling from the panel.

The soon to be ex First Minister appeared by fellow guest Jason Manford, making her entrance in the studio shortly after the first ad break, just as a clip of her resignation speech played out on screen. And it was the fact that she walked on set wearing exactly the same outfit she was wearing in the video that proved to be a source of embarrassment.
Before she'd even sat down, Nicola could be heard telling Ruth: "I'm mortified by the way. I am utterly mortified." When quizzed as to why, Nicola elaborated: "I as watching that clip of my resignation speech and I'm wearing the same jacket today. Have I got time to go and change?"
She then added: "My mother will give me some talking to," as Gloria reassured her by remarking: "It looks really nice on you, so don't worry."
