Nicola Sturgeon intervenes in NHS crisis by holding key meeting

NICOLA Sturgeon has held a key meeting on the crisis facing the NHS to discuss how to alleviate pressures on the health and social care system.

The First Minister Nicola Sturgeon headed up a meeting of the Scottish Government resilience committee (SGoRR) on Friday which was attended by the likes of Deputy First Minister John Swinney, Health Secretary Humza Yousaf and key partners across the system including senior representatives from NHS Boards, COSLA, Integration Joint Boards and the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The latest situation with flu and COVID-19 infections was covered, along with the increased demands on acute sites and social care which have been experienced over the Christmas and New Year period.
