Nicola Peltz’s father breaks silence on Beckham family feud

Nicola Peltz's billionaire father has spoken publicly for the first time about the feud that continues to rage between son-in-law Brooklyn Beckham and his parents.

Nelson Peltz, 83, an investor worth approximately £1.2billion, had remained quiet following Brooklyn’s series of Instagram posts last month, but launched a strong defence of his family yesterday.

Brooklyn, 26, made a number of allegations against David and Victoria Beckham, accusing them of “endlessly” trying to ruin his relationship with wife Nicola, and stating he had no intention of reconciling with his “controlling” parents.

Mr Peltz spoke yesterday during a Q and A session with reporter Lauren Thomas at WSJD's Invest Live in West Palm Beach event, where he discussed “negotiating high-stakes situations, particularly playing out in public view.”

Mr Peltz said: “Has my family been in the press lately? I haven't noticed that at all. My advice is to stay the hell out of the press. How much good did that do?”

He added: “My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story and that's not for coverage here today. But I'll tell you my daughter is great, my son-in-law Brooklyn is great and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.”

When asked if he gave the couple advice on how to navigate a difficult situation, Mr Peltz replied: “I do. Sometimes they give me advice.”

Brooklyn married actress Nicola, 31, in 2022, but their relationship has caused major friction within the Beckham family.

And Brooklyn dropped a bombshell on January 19 in a series of posts on Instagram, in which he said he was “standing up” for himself for the first time in his life.

He said: "For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.

"The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.

“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”

He also claimed that he was “humiliated” during the wedding by Victoria, who allegedly danced inappropriately on her son while taking Nicola’s place during the traditional first dance.

Following the fallout, both sides stayed relatively quiet following Brooklyn’s statement, with he and wife reportedly considering a multi-million pound deal to share footage of their wedding vows renewal.

It is claimed they have been inundated with offers by production firms for footage of the ceremony, to which the Brooklyn’s family were not invited.

Meanwhile, in his first interview following his son’s statement, David told CNBC’s Squawk Box that “you have to let your children make mistakes” while discussing the power of social media.

The rest of the Beckham siblings appear to have sided with their parents, with Romeo, Cruz and Harper all seen alongside David and Victoria during Fashion Week in Paris, where Victoria was made a Knight of the Order at an event at the French Ministry of Culture for her work as a fashion designer.
