Nicola Peltz Beckham has branded her new husband Brooklyn the ‘best’ as he helped her with handbag holding duties at the 2022 Met Gala after party.
The couple – who tied-the-knot last month at a multi-million pound wedding in Florida – were among the rich and famous who attended the 2022 event in New York.
The Met Gala offers the most famous and rich celebrities in the world an opportunity to gather together to demand attention on a red carpet – with the 2022 event coinciding with news that the human rights for women in the USA are about to be revoked.
But the partying must go on – and for 27-year-old actress Nicola and her 23-year-old career challenged husband, it was a perfect excuse to show off their extravagant lives.
While Brooklyn has failed as a photographer and struggled as a chef, he may well consider becoming a full time bag carrier for his billionaire heiress wife – as she seemed most pleased with his carrying abilities.
Taking to Instagram while the Met Gala celebrations were in full swing, Nicola shared photos from inside the venue, showing Brooklyn beaming away while he stood mingling with fellow stars.
And other snaps showed him and Nicola looking loved up on the red carpet and inside the venue.
While Nicola went on to share a photo of Brooklyn looking bleary eyed and clutching a glass of red wine in one hand and presumably her handbag in the other.
She captioned this particular image:”Best husband”.
Fans of the duo declared they had won the Met Gala by being the best dressed at the event.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Nicola and Brooklyn r (sic) the best dressed couple this year.”
Nicola initially arrived wearing a bright pink gown by Valentino but later changed into a mint green outfit – while Brooklyn wore a see-through white shirt, white trousers, and a white dinner jacket.
The 2022 event sparked a backlash among fashion fans as the rich and famous gathered together while news broke that America looks almost certain to overturn the 1973 ruling of the Roe V Wade court case which legalised abortion.
Concerned citizens flooded Twitter on Monday to draw comparisons between the two moments in time.
One tweeted: “The craziest thing about the MET Gala outfits is the fact that the Supreme Court is literally overturning Roe v Wade as we speak.”
And another woefully commented: “The Supreme Court overturning Roe V. Wade while the whole country is distracted by an inconsequential event celebrating extreme wealth is, unfortunately, the most symbolic representation of America rn.”
While senator Elizabeth Warren wrote: “An extremist Supreme Court is poised to overturn #RoeVWade and impose its far-right, unpopular views on the entire country. It's time for the millions who support the Constitution and abortion rights to stand up and make their voices heard. We're not going back—not ever.”
