Paris Hilton's sister Nicky has spoken out about the cruel trolling of her nephew Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum over the size of his head.
Paris, who welcomed baby Phoenix earlier this year, has previously hit out at trolls who said her baby son had a large head compared to the rest of his body.
And while attending the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year event on Tuesday night, her sister Nicky, 40, who is a mother-of-three, said people who comment on the appearance of a young child online are “demented.”
“I think that if you are bullying an infant then you have serious issues and you really take a look at yourself,” the designer and socialite told Page Six at the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year event on Tuesday.
“It's so demented.”
Last month socialite Paris, 42, posted pictures of her son Phoenix's first trip to New York City.
“My precious angel baby Phoenix's first time in NYC,” she wrote in the caption under a series of images.
She was then forced to speak out after various fans left mean comments under the post. “There are some sick people in this world. My angel is perfectly healthy,” she said.
“And yes, of course he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain.”
In another lengthy post on Instagram, the star wrote: “Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable but targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter, is unacceptable. This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe.”
She added: “My baby is perfectly healthy, adorable and angelic. Phoenix is my world and has been the biggest blessing of my life.
"It’s hard to fathom that there are people in the world who would target such innocence. I hope that people can treat one another with more kindness and empathy.”
Hilton shares her son with husband Carter Reum, 42.
Earlier this year, the US socialite and businesswoman posted four black and white photos to her Instagram page to confirm their surrogate had given birth.
In February she revealed her son’s name was Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum, and had wanted to choose a name on the theme of world cities, like herself.
“My whole heart. #MommyMonday,” she captioned the pictures.
Explaining the thought process behind the baby’s name on her podcast This Is Paris, she said she had wanted one with multiple meanings.
She added that her life now felt “complete” and praised Reum as an “angel and such an incredible father”.
“It’s amazing being a mum, it sounds so weird saying I’m a mum but I love it,” she said.
