Nick Scott was among NFL’s top earners in performance-based pay for 2022

Each year, the NFL rewards players who outperform their current contracts through the performance-based pay program. It compensates players on smaller contracts who earn significant playing time, typically those who are late-round draft picks when they come into the NFL.

The league announced the top earners in performance-based pay for the 2022 season and Rams safety, who’s currently a free agent, came in at No. 22 by earning an extra $649,016 for his play last season. A 2019 seventh-round pick, Scott played 97% of the defensive snaps in 2022 and had two interceptions to go with 86 tackles.

Scott’s salary last season was $965,000, so his PBP bonus was pretty sizable compared to that. For further perspective, his salary in 2019 as a rookie was $495,000.

Below are the top earners in performance-based pay from 2022. Scott was the only Rams player to make the list.
