During Hey Coach and The Nick Saban Show, Alabama’s Nick Saban shared a hilarious potential reason for the apparent blood in his right eye.
Saban, who said he doesn’t know how the injury happened, met with a doctor after a recent practice and revealed that the doctor jokingly told him it could have come from yelling too much.
“He [the doctor] said, ‘You know, you can get this from yelling?’” said a smiling Saban. “He says, ‘You got it from yelling. There’s nothing wrong with you. You just got it from yelling. So you busted a blood vessel in your eye from yelling too much.’”

Alabama’s coach said that while it looks like he was in a one-sided fight, his eye doesn’t actually hurt.
“It doesn’t hurt, but it does look bad. It looks like I’ve been in a gang fight and my gang didn’t show,” Saban joked.
No. 8 Alabama plays host to No. 14 LSU on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in a battle for SEC West supremacy. Kickoff is at 7:45 p.m. ET.
