Newcastle United's man of the moment Nick Pope has spoken of his delight following his dream start between the posts for the Magpies.

Pope kept a clean sheet against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League season curtain raiser on a day in which he didn't have much to do. But he proved his worth when tested to the absolute limit away to Brighton & Hove Albion in last weekend's stalemate with a string of fine stops and the man of the match award in most newspaper columns and websites.

Pope told Chronicle Live: "It's all I could have asked for. "Getting clean sheets makes the difference so I am over the moon with it all.
