Nick Kyrgios has revealed he supports Tottenham because he enjoyed playing with them on FIFA during the Emmanuel Adebayor era.
Aussie star Kyrgios, won't be able to shoot for a second straight Wimbledon final due to injury. The 28-year-old, who lost to Novak Djokovic last year, pulled out on the eve of the tournament thanks to a wrist injury.
Away from the court, Kyrgios' football fandom has caught the eye with the controversial star previously seen in a Spurs shirt. While he says he's not a massive fan, he explained how Adebayor played a part in his decision to follow the London side.
"It’s a funny story, you’ll like this," Kyrgios told Men's Health. "I play computer games a lot and I used to like Emmanuel Adebayor on FIFA. At the time, he played for Spurs, so I supported them and have never changed."
Adebayor, who also spent time at Spurs' rivals Arsenal, spent four seasons at White Hart Lane after initially joining on loan. The Togolese international scored 42 goals for the club, but left at the end of Mauricio Pochettino's first season in charge.
Back in 2017, Kyrgios arrived at the All England Club wearing a Spurs home shirt. By that point, Adebayor had moved on and was playing his club football in Turkey with Istanbul Basaksehir.

Kyrgios, seeded 30 at Wimbledon this year, had been due to take on qualifier David Goffin in the first round. His spot has been taken by lucky loser Fabian Maroszan.
The winner of the Maroszan vs Goffin match-up could be in line to face number seven seed Andrey Rublev in round three. The Russian beat Max Purcell in the first round, and the winner of his section of the draw would be in line to face reigning champion Djokovic at the quarter-final stage.
Speaking before his withdrawal, Kyrgios also gave his thoughts on Djokovic. When asked to describe the Serbian in one word, he said. "I would say the word has changed maybe six times during the time I have known him. But right now, the word is legend.
"He’s a real legend of the game," Kyrgios continued. "What I like about Novak is that he deals with a lot of s*** but just keeps going.
"He has a fan base where a lot of people love him and a lot of people don’t. He sometimes doesn’t know where he can play, what tournament, he deals with a lot of other people’s opinions coming at him, and he just does it. That’s a cool thing."
