The Nick Kyrgios Australian Open return is no longer a myth – Melbourne WILL be welcoming back the maverick star in January.
Kyrgios has not played in a Grand Slam event for over two years. His last appearance came at the 2022 U.S. Open where he lost to Karen Khachanov in the quarter-final.
His last professional tennis match came 18 months ago. Now, Kyrgios is set to put his two-year injury hell behind him and get back to doing what he does best.
A series of knee, foot and wrist problems have hindered the 29-year-old but Kyrgios is now set to feature in the first major of 2025.
Before then, the Aussie will compete in the World Tennis League event in Abu Dhabi from 19-22 December. Furthermore, Kyrgios will play at the Brisbane Open from 29 December.

Nick Kyrgios Australian Open Return Is Confirmed
Now that the Nick Kyrgios Australian Open return has been pencilled in, the star can begin to channel his energies back on to the court.
Kyrgios used his protective ranking to secure a place in the main draw for the Melbourne extravaganza. His last appearance in the tournament came in 2022 when he was knocked out in round two.
His best run came in 2015 when he reached the quarter-final stage. Since then, Kyrgios has failed to navigate further than the fourth round.
Overall, Kyrgios finest Grand Slam achievement came at Wimbledon in 2022. The Aussie star went all the way to the final where he was beaten by Novak Djokovic.
Earlier this year, Kyrgios revealed that he had just a ’15 per cent chance’ to make it back to playing at his best levels owing to his injury problems.
Now those issues appear to be in the past, Kyrgios is ready to excite supporters once again. The 2025 Australian Open gets underway on January 12.
