Among the many things the NFLPA does, one of them is keeping track of the marketability of players. The player’s union tracks the merchandise and jersey sales of all the players across the league.
In their latest update on sales encompassing March 1st of 2021 to February 28th of 2022, two Cleveland Browns players made the cut for the top 50. And one of them might not be who you would expect repping Cleveland on the list.
Running back Nick Chubb surged up to being 15th on the list. It’s becoming increasingly common to see Chubb’s No. 24 jerseys around. The other Browns player isn’t Myles Garrett or Denzel Ward or even Jarvis Landry, however. It’s Baker Mayfield.
The embattled quarterback came in 31st in total sales. Presumably, much of that action came earlier in the period before Mayfield’s relationship with the team soured badly.
