Nick Cannon has revealed that his youngest son, Zen, has passed away at the age of just five-months-old.

Taking to his Instagram account on Tuesday, Cannon put up a video clip from the Nick Cannon Show speaking about his son, who, passed from a rare brain tumour.

Zen was born on June 23, and Cannon recalled the moment when he and Alyssa Scott became aware that their son suffered from a condition called Hydrocephalus.

“I always noticed that he had a cough, and I wanted to check it out,” Cannon said.

“He had this interesting breathing and by the time he was two months, I noticed he had a nice sized head too — I call it a Cannon head. We didn’t think anything of it. But I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing. We thought it would be routine.”

Not too long after, Cannon and Scott were told that Zen had a malignant tumour. While he had brain surgery for the condition, his health declined over Thanksgiving.

Cannon spoke about his last days with his son, explaining that the family spent “he most quality time” together.

“This weekend I made a valid to spend the most quality time with Zen,” he tearfully told the audience.

“We woke up on Sunday, and I was just like ‘I feel like I want to go to the water’ you know, close to the ocean. We got a chance to go to the ocean.”

“Usually, on Sundays, I kind of handle everything I like to handle with the family, and then I fly back to New York so I can be here for you all. By the time I got in the car and was headed to the airport, I had to turn around,” Cannon said.

“I turned around and not only did we get to see the sun rise, but we got to see the sun set too.”

Cannon went on to dedicate the show to his son.

Scott also took to her Instagram Story to post tribute videos of Zen, with one showing him happy and at peace after waking up from a nap.

Cannon will reportedly take some time off. A source told ET that his show “was scheduled to have two show tapings on Monday, including a live show.”

However, the shows were unexpectedly cancelled on Sunday, and a pre-taped episode premiered on Monday instead.
