After two Ohio State receivers were taken off the board back-to-back in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, there was a bit of a lull before the next Buckeye was selected. That came by way of offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere. He was selected by the Tennessee Titans as the No. 69 overall pick in the third round. He’ll be joining and playing for another former Buckeye, head coach Mike Vrabel.
Petit-Frere was a five-star prospect out of Tampa, Florida when he committed to the Buckeyes in the 2018 class. He gained the starting right tackle job entering the 2020 season and has been a staple of the offensive line ever since, moving to the left tackle position last season.
He’s played in 35 games, starting 20 of those, earned All-Ameican honors from the Football Writers Association of America, and was named a first-team All-Big Ten performer.
He could be an immediate impact performer in the NFL in year one if he finds himself in the right situation.
