NIC’s e-Hospital launched in Kurnool, Anantapur districts

The National Informatics Centre’s e-Hospital, a cloud-based hospital management system that brings hospitals, patients and doctors onto a single platform, was launched in Kurnool and Anantapur districts on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

The system was launched in the Government General Hospital(GGH), Nandyal district hospital and Adoni area hospital in Kurnool district. In Anantapur district, it was launched in GGH, Hindupur district hospital, Guntakal and Kadiri area hospitals. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Director-General of NIC Iniya Nehru formally launched the system at the hospitals in Kurnool district.

With this, the number of hospitals in the State that have been inter-connected through the platform rose to 55.

Launching the system, Anantapur District Collector Nagalakshmi Selvarajan said the cloud-based digitised patient information will now be available with a Unique Patient ID generated at the time of registration at any of the connected government hospitals. All the private hospitals too would be brought into this system very soon to provide seamless patient care, she said.

Anantapur GGH’s Superintendent Subramanyam, Joint Collector A. Siri and Anantapur Government Medical College Principal Myreddy Neeraja oversaw the digital registration process at the outpatient counters at the GGH.

Two crore people of the State have been provided ‘Health IDs’ where repeated manual entry need not be done when a patient moves from one hospital to another. The medical history of a patient, with all medicines that were prescribed, tests conducted and procedures followed and blood transfusion(if any), can be known with just one click now, said Syed Usman of State Coordinator of NIC, in-charge of the e-Hospital project.
