People are going to have to continue to wait for NHS treatment with the covid backlog not starting to fall for at least two more years.
According to the Government’s new recovery plan set out on Tuesday, the NHS waiting list in England could even double in size, hitting 14 million.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid told the Commons how the NHS would tackle the backlog of care built up during the Covid-19 pandemic, including new targets for reducing long waits and getting people checked for illnesses more quickly.
