NHS Lanarkshire has announced it is making changes to its vaccination programme over the summer months.
The health board is expecting a quieter period over the school holidays with people going away on vacation and to reflect this, the health board made some alterations to the opening days and times of local sites.
These alterations are only for a short period of time and will be resuming normal opening days and times into the autumn and winter.
Lynsey Sutherland, interim general manager, Lanarkshire vaccination programme, said: “We have taken the decision to alternate the days and opening times of our local sites during the summer months as we expect there to be quieter period as people take their summer holidays.
“As the programme reduces in intensity over the summer months, we are using that time to seek out individuals who as yet have not accessed the vaccine but now want to take the opportunity to be vaccinated.
“We are also using this quieter period to allow our vaccination staff to support other areas of NHS Lanarkshire given the ongoing pressures being experienced across the wider NHS.
“Our website will be updated weekly with all the necessary information on what sites are open when and we urging anyone who still requires any doses of the vaccine including the spring booster to either book an appointment through the online portal, or the helpline on 0800 030 8013.
"Alternatively, we will be offering further drop in clinics which will be published through social media and on our website.”
