BHUBANESWAR: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought action taken reports from the chief secretary of Odisha and the district collector of Koraput in a matter related to making provision of basic amenities and benefits of social welfare schemes for deprived people of the district.
On November 25, 2021, human rights activist and lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy had filed 2,621 petitions before the NHRC seeking redressal of grievances of deprived people of Koraput and Keonjhar districts. It includes 1451 complaints for Koraput people. On Friday, the Commission asked for action taken reports in Koraput cases.
